The VA needs a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to conduct asbestos surveys and inventory at two VAMCs in South Dakota.
Key Details
- What exactly do they need? The VA needs a comprehensive asbestos survey and inventory of building materials at the Fort Meade VAMC and the Hot Springs VAMC in South Dakota. The contractor will locate and identify homogeneous areas (HAs), identify asbestos content of HAs, quantify asbestos HAs, document location of asbestos HAs on floor plan drawings, assess the condition of HAs, assess the friability and risk of occupant exposure to existing asbestos materials, and provide cost estimates and priorities for damaged or compromised asbestos.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? The contract will be a firm-fixed-price contract with a duration of 120 calendar days. The VA will provide access to all building areas, and the contractor will meet with the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) and the VAMC Asbestos Program Coordinators before starting field work.
- How will they pick the winner? The VA will evaluate proposals based on the contractor's experience, qualifications, and past performance.
- When and how do you bid? Vendors should submit their contact information and a capability statement to Justin.Erdley@va.gov by June 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM MST. Only emailed responses will be accepted.
