Frequently asked questions
What is a "set-aside" opportunity?expand_more
A federal contract reserved for small businesses with a specific certification — Women-Owned (WOSB), Disadvantaged (8(a)), HUBZone, Disabled-Veteran (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned (VOSB), and others. Set-asides limit competition to qualifying small businesses, which makes them realistic targets for SMBs that wouldn't win against large primes in an open bid.
How fresh is the data?expand_more
We sync with SAM.gov once a day. New opportunities and amendments to existing ones land on the board overnight, and each opp shows when we last saw an update from SAM.
What's the difference between the digest and the assistant?expand_more
The daily digest emails a plain-English summary of every new opportunity each morning. The assistant lets you ask follow-up questions about a specific opp — qualifications, deadlines, what to bid, who the contracting officer is.
What if I'm not sure I qualify for a set-aside?expand_more
Every opportunity page has a Who should apply and Deal-breakers summary that calls out the certifications and capabilities required. You can also ask the assistant — free accounts get 3 questions per day.
Can I cancel Pro anytime?expand_more
Yes. Cancel in one click from your account settings. No contracts, no questions, no email gauntlet. Your Pro features stay active through the end of your current billing period.
Are you affiliated with SAM.gov or the federal government?expand_more
No. Set-Aside Pro is an independent publication. We're not a government agency, not endorsed by SAM.gov, and not affiliated with any federal department. All data comes from public SAM.gov listings, refreshed daily.
