Short version: We collect your email so we can send you a daily digest you opted into and sign-in codes. We don't sell your data. We don't use cookies for ads. We log basic request metadata (standard for our infrastructure) for security and debugging. That's it.
What we collect
- Your email. Provided when you sign up, or shared by your sign-in provider if you choose a third-party sign-in option. Used to send sign-in codes, the daily digest, and account-related transactional email.
- Your name (optional). If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the name on that account; otherwise it defaults to the part of your email before the @ sign. Used to personalize the dashboard greeting.
- Your bookmarks and digest filters. Stored against your user account so we can render the dashboard and personalize the digest. Visible only to you.
- Your assistant conversations. Stored so the conversation history rail in /chat works. Visible only to you.
- Request logs. IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp — our infrastructure provider's default observability. Retained for ~30 days for security and debugging.
What we don't collect
- No third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, no ad pixels.
- No cookies beyond the session cookie that keeps you signed in (plus a short-lived, functional cookie used only during the third-party sign-in round-trip). No ad-targeting cookies, ever.
- We don't track which opportunities you read, beyond what's required to render your bookmarks and dashboard.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the service. We share only what each one needs to do its job, and we describe them by category rather than by brand:
- Hosting & infrastructure. Our cloud provider runs the application, stores the database, and delivers our transactional email, under its own privacy policy.
- Payment processing. Our payment processor acts as the merchant of record for Pro subscriptions. When you upgrade, it receives your email and name and collects your payment and billing details directly; we never see or store your card number. It handles billing and any applicable taxes under its own privacy policy.
- Third-party sign-in. Only if you choose a third-party sign-in option. We redirect you to that provider to sign in, and it returns your email, name, and whether your email is verified. We don't post anything to your account there or request access to anything else.
- SAM.gov. We pull public opportunity data from SAM.gov, the government's official source. We don't send any of your information back to them.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. We don't share it with anyone not listed above.
How long we keep it
- Your account data persists until you delete the account.
- Request logs are retained for ~30 days per our infrastructure provider's default.
- Sign-in codes are stored only as a hash, and are deleted the moment they're used or when they expire (10 minutes).
Your rights
You can permanently delete your account and all of its data yourself from the "Danger zone" on your Settings page — we email a confirmation code, and entering it erases everything. For a data export, or any other request, email hello@setasidepro.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
We're a California-based business. If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights — and because we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. If you're in the EU/UK or another jurisdiction with formal privacy rights (GDPR and similar), you have the rights granted by your local law and we'll honor them.
Unsubscribing
Every digest email has an unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking it immediately stops the daily digest; we keep your account intact (so bookmarks and the assistant still work) but stop sending email until you opt back in from your settings.
Children
Set-Aside Pro is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes substantively, we'll surface a notice on the Site.
