- What exactly do they need? The Department of Veterans Affairs needs a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to construct a centralized emergency power system for the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. This project will replace multiple distributed generators with a single, state-of-the-art, medium voltage power generation and distribution facility designed for resilience, security, and operational efficiency. The system will support the current facility and future campus expansion of up to 150,000 additional square feet.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? The contract type is firm fixed, with an estimated duration of 1460 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The project cost range is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000.
- How will they pick the winner? The government will award the contract using the Best Value Source Selection Process.
- When and how do you bid? The solicitation package with project specifications and drawings will be available for download on or about August 1, 2026. The proposal due date is on or about September 1, 2026. Interested offerors are highly encouraged to attend an organized site visit, which will be scheduled at a later date.
