The GSA needs an artist to create a publicly scaled artwork for the Coburn Gore Land Port of Entry in Maine.

Key Details

  • What exactly do they need? The GSA is commissioning an artist to create a publicly scaled artwork for the Coburn Gore Land Port of Entry in Maine. The artwork should be permanently installed and reflect the ideals upon which our Nation was founded. The artist will collaborate with the lead designer, travel to the project site, develop and present preliminary and final concepts, fabricate the artwork, participate in meetings and conservation reviews, deliver and install the artwork, and provide professional documentation and maintenance planning.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? The contract will be a fixed-price contract for a commission, with an estimated budget of $275,000 to $400,000. The project will provide a fully operational LPOE that coordinates with the traffic flow and operations of the Canadian port of entry at Saint-Augustin-de-Woburn Quebec, Port of Entry.
  • How will they pick the winner? GSA will evaluate artists based on the media, materials, content, and style of their past work, along with their past performance and experience with commissions or projects similar to the one described in this synopsis. Shortlisted artists will be contacted and asked to submit additional information.
  • When and how do you bid? Artists must submit application materials to GSA by the SAM Contract Opportunity's Response Date. Artists may also elect to be considered for all future GSA art commissions by submitting application materials to GSA's National Artist Registry (Registry).
