The Air Force needs two compact mini crawler cranes for aircraft maintenance operations.
Key Details
The 20th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron needs two new, unused, current-production compact mini crawler cranes/spider cranes to support CV-22 aircraft maintenance lifting operations. The cranes will be used in restricted-access and limited-maneuverability areas where hangar lifting equipment, fixed lifting equipment, or conventional mobile crane support is unavailable or impractical. The cranes must be suitable for aircraft maintenance operations on paved and unimproved surfaces and must be sufficiently compact and transportable to support temporary-duty, deployed, and austere operating environments.
- What exactly do they need? The cranes must meet or exceed every minimum salient physical, functional, and performance characteristic stated in this solicitation, including a hydraulically telescoping boom, crawler-mounted mobility, and a multi-position stabilizing outrigger system capable of supporting safe lifting operations. The cranes must also be capable of safely lifting not less than 5,000 pounds at a 10-foot working radius, have a hook or boom-tip height of not less than 41 feet, and be furnished in a manufacturer-approved configuration capable of operating on JP-8 fuel.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? The contract will be a firm-fixed-price contract with a preferred delivery within 120 calendar days after receipt of order. A proposed delivery schedule exceeding 120 calendar days will be considered less favorable.
- How will they pick the winner? The Government will evaluate quotations based on the information submitted with the quotation or clearly identified and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Government is not responsible for locating or obtaining information not identified in the quotation.
- When and how do you bid? Quotations shall be submitted in writing to John Ambrus at john.ambrus.2@us.af.mil and Elizabeth Vasquez at elizabeth.vasquez.5@us.af.mil no later than 7 Aug 2026 @ 1600 MDT.
