- What exactly do they need? The National Weather Service needs a small business to supply compressed helium to its office in Salt Lake City, UT. The helium must be a minimum of industrial grade 99.99% purity. Deliveries will occur approximately every three weeks throughout the period of performance, which is July 27, 2026 through April 30, 2027.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a fixed-price purchase order with an option to increase the quantity by not more than 50% of the initial quantity. The contract will include the option to increase the quantity by up to 64 cylinders and the option to increase the number of deliveries by up to 6.
- How will they pick the winner? The evaluation criteria are provided in the attached SF 1449. The best-value acquisition will be based on total contract value, including the helium, any fees, and cylinder rent.
- When and how do you bid? Quotes are due to the contracting office no later than 10:00 am MDT on Friday, July 23, 2026. All quotes must be emailed to the attention of Jen Brown at jen.brown@noaa.gov.
