This is a Special Notice — informational only.

The agency posted this for awareness. It's not a solicitation, so you can't respond with a bid.

The Navy needs a small business to provide IMS watertight doors for its ships.

Key Details

The NOAA Ship Pisces needs IMS watertight sliding doors, a highly technical and specialized product. The upgrade portion is to the control circuit cards, which are no longer supported. Only IMS, the Original Equipment Manufacturer, can provide these parts or upgrade the circuit cards. The Government intends to acquire these parts under the guidelines of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures and FAR Part 12, Commercial Items.

  • What exactly do they need? IMS watertight sliding doors with upgraded control circuit cards.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with IMS, Inc. under the authority of FAR 1)(i).
  • How will they pick the winner? The notice doesn't say.
  • When and how do you bid? Submit a statement of capabilities to Alexander Cancela at alexander.cancela@noaa.gov by 5:00 PM EST on June 18, 2026.
