U.S. Department of Defense
Amended Jun 16, 2026 · 04:00 UTC

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers needs a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to build a microgrid system at the Anniston Army Depot in Alabama.

Key Details

  • What exactly do they need? The microgrid system at the Anniston Army Depot will have full islanding capability energy resiliency by providing an onsite, automated energy control/generation storage management system. It will integrate the new and existing generation assets with the Nichols, Demil, and Eulaton 46kV/12.47kV substations to enable islanding for all critical loads. During a grid outage, the automated switching and microgrid controls will enable direct routing of electricity generated by the onsite assets to mission critical loads and loadshedding of large blocks of non-critical loads.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? The contract will be a firm-fixed-price contract with a duration of 952 calendar days. The notice doesn't say when the expected start date is.
  • How will they pick the winner? The Government will evaluate the proposals in accordance with the criteria described in the solicitation, using the Best Value Trade-Off process.
  • When and how do you bid? Proposals must be submitted according to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) by the response deadline of June 29, 2026. The solicitation package, including drawings and specifications, can be accessed by following the procedure outlined in the notice.
