The Air Force needs a modular fiber optic test platform for base communications. The system must be portable, versatile, and rugged enough for field use. It must meet the following minimum technical requirements:
- A modular mainframe with a minimum of 128 GB of internal flash memory and four slots for test modules
- A quad-wavelength OTDR module capable of testing at 850/1300 nm and 1310/1550 nm
- An optical test module capable of measuring both Chromatic Dispersion (CD) and Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD)
The system must be delivered with a fiber optic loopback mirror and a UPC polish connector. It must be delivered in a single, hard-sided transit case.
