The Forest Service needs a small business to pave NFSR 141 in New Mexico.
Key Details
- What exactly do they need? The Forest Service needs a contractor to pave NFSR 141 in New Mexico. The work includes pulverizing the existing chip seal surface, reshaping the road template, maintaining and repairing culverts, reconditioning ditch lines, and clearing roadside vegetation. The base contract will also include paving a 3-inch layer of asphalt over a 4-inch layer of aggregate base for the first 9.47 miles of the road. Optional items include adding a 4-inch aggregate surface course, applying a dust palliative, and applying a fog seal and chip seal.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a Request for Proposal (RFP) with a base contract and optional items. The contract will be awarded to a single contractor for the base contract and optional items will be funded if allowed. The notice doesn't say how long the contract will last.
- How will they pick the winner? The Forest Service will evaluate proposals based on the lowest price technically acceptable.
- When and how do you bid? Proposals must be sent electronically to troy.mccullough@usda.gov by June 5th, 2026 at 1:00pm Central Daylight Time.
