The U.S. Coast Guard needs a small business to manufacture outboard stern tubes for its ships.
Key Details
- What exactly do they need? The Coast Guard needs outboard stern tubes with specific dimensions and materials, including synthetic rubber facing and a cast non-ferrous metal housing. The tubes must be manufactured to MIL-DTL-17901C, Class II, and meet the dimensions shown on NAVSEA drawing 803-1385664, piece 19, table VII.
- What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item, and the Coast Guard intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract. The resultant purchase order will be awarded on an all or none basis to a responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation.
- How will they pick the winner? The award will be made based on the lowest price technically acceptable.
- When and how do you bid? Quotations are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The closing date and time for receipt of quote is July 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Offerors must submit their quotes electronically through the Coast Guard's procurement system.
