  • What exactly do they need? The VA needs a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to install and test patient ceiling lifts at the Des Moines VA Health Care System. The project includes 194 actions consisting of 158 replacements, 21 additions, and 15 removals, including designated bariatric capabilities. The contractor must deliver turnkey systems installed, tested, certified, labeled, documented, and ready for immediate clinical use with end user and maintenance training completed prior to beneficial use.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a Two-Phase Design-Build contract with an estimated solicitation date of 06/03/2026 and an estimated award date of 10/30/2026. The contract period of performance for the design phase is 100 calendar days, and the total design and construction period is 730 calendar days.
