The repair involves draining the coolant, removing the valve cover and gasket, removing the ECM, removing the exhaust manifold and riser, removing the injectors from the cylinder head, removing the rocker arm assemblies, removing the camshaft, removing the cylinder head, thoroughly cleaning the area of all debris, installing a government-furnished cylinder head gasket kit, installing a new government-furnished cylinder head and torquing it to MTU requirements, reinstalling the exhaust manifold with a new government-furnished gasket, installing the exhaust riser to manifold pipe, adjusting the cylinder head exhaust valves and injector timing according to MTU requirements, reinstalling the valve cover and gasket, starting the engine and checking for leaks and proper operation, and performing sea trials to ensure the repairs are satisfactory.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a firm-fixed-price purchase order with an anticipated award date. The period of performance will be from the start date through the end date, with work performed Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
