info
This is a Sources Sought notice.

The agency is gauging market interest. No bid is being requested yet — submitting a capabilities statement may put you on the radar for the eventual solicitation.

The VA needs a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to manufacture shower chairs for its Bay Pines hospital.

Key Details

  • What exactly do they need? Shower chairs for the VA's Bay Pines hospital must meet or exceed the following specs: slim design, commode pan included, ergonomic foot rest, height adjustable, adjustable foot support, 4 lockable wheels, wipeable back support, no-rust frame, and 353 lb. weight capacity.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a Sources Sought notice, not a solicitation. The VA will use a Brand Name or Equal description to permit contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name.
  • How will they pick the winner? The VA will evaluate responses to determine the socio-economic status of the set-aside. If insufficient SDVOSB responses are received, the requirement may be solicited as a VOSB or a SB set aside.
  • When and how do you bid? The response deadline is June 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST. Please reply in the affirmative via email if you are interested and can provide the required service/product.

Who can apply

  • Must be a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)

If you're interested, do this first

  • Check that your SDVOSB certification is still active in SAM.gov
  • Write a 1-page summary of similar work you've done before
  • Email the contracting officer to RSVP for the site visit
  • Find a teaming partner who already has the required certification
