The National Institute of Standards and Technology needs a contractor to renovate the Gaithersburg Site Effluent Treatment System, a large concrete tank that provides primary effluent treatment. The system is inoperable due to structural and life safety issues, including a detached primary floor support, sagging aluminum grating, and corroded internal blowers and heaters. The renovation requires a complete replacement of all tank components, including a new floor surface, support members, safety blowers and heaters, stir/agitation motor and shaft system, PH monitoring probes and data signaling, epoxy lining of the wet tank, lighting, electrical outlets, and demolition and replacement of all explosion proof electrical wiring and conduit.
