The Air Force needs a small business to supply 28 small drones for cadet warfighter training.

Key Details

  • What exactly do they need? The Air Force needs 28 small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) to support cadet warfighter training and operations. The drones must meet or exceed the salient characteristics of the preferred Skydio brand.
  • What's the contract structure and timeline? This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a request for quote (RFQ) with a 100% small business set-aside. The contract will be awarded to the best value to the Government based on price, past performance, and technical capability.
  • How will they pick the winner? The Government will evaluate technical capability on an acceptable/unacceptable basis and perform a security and supply chain compliance review. The Government will query the unified federal "do not buy" database to verify that the quoter, the sUAS manufacturer, and all proposed sUAS components/software are not subject to any active FASCSA, ASDA, or other federal security exclusion orders.
  • When and how do you bid? Email the following to marissa.morris.4@us.af.mil and danielle.hyde.2@us.af.mil by 23 July 2026 at 10:00am MDT: Completed and signed SF1449, total quoted price for CLINs 0001-0004, technical capability documentation (if quoting an "Equal" product), authorized reseller's certificate (if applicable), verification of active SAM.gov registration, and completed and signed Buy American Certificate.

Who can apply

  • Any certified small business may apply.

Don't bother if…

  • You must be a certified small business — no exceptions.

Heads up — easy to miss

  • There's a mandatory technical capability documentation requirement for vendors quoting an "equal" product.
  • The Government will query the unified federal "do not buy" database to verify that the quoter, the sUAS manufacturer, and all proposed sUAS components/software are not subject to any active FASCSA, ASDA, or other federal security exclusion orders.
  • Any quote proposing equipment or sources subject to a prohibition under will be determined technically unacceptable and ineligible for award.

If you're interested, do this first

  • Check that your small business certification is still active in SAM.gov.
  • Review the salient characteristics and specifications in Attachment 1 to ensure your product meets the requirements.
  • Email the contracting officer to RSVP for the submission package requirements.
