The Navy needs a small business to manufacture technical polymer for radiation shielding. This is a sole-source contract for Ecomass Technologies LP, the sole equipment manufacturer of the composite, technical polymer (filled polyurethane base resin) nontoxic thermoplastic lead alternative. The shielding is critical for proper radiation attenuation during packaging, transportation and storage of a highly contaminated piece of reactor plant hardware.
